GET REAL CARE CENTER
Once per month we host a food distribution for our community. On this night we serve a hot meal, give a food box and clothing as needed to families from our community. The care center is always held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Volunteers are ALWAYS needed: packing boxes prior to the night, serving food to families, carrying food boxes, helping with clothing and so on. There is always a job for you to do!

GET REAL INTENSE (GRIT)
Get Real Intense Training is available for youth groups, church groups or families. This training exposes you to all different types of missions and ministry. Beginning with physical labor and ending on the streets serving the homeless- it is sure to challenge and change you and your group forever. Some groups use this as a prerequisite for a mission trip.
"You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1: 8
Our first trip to Appalachia was in December 2001. We quickly learned about a place that has been devastated by the decline of the coal mining industry which has left many families in a spinning circle of poverty. We know that we cannot fix the problems at hand but we know that we can offer Hope in Christ which can transform a life filled with no hope into a life of Hope.
December missions focus on meeting physical needs through providing coats, blankets, toys and food to the community. This enables many families to have Christmas. Every trip to Kentucky is filled with public school assemblies- high energy assemblies with a positive message for students to apply to their lives.
Come and join us in the mountains and help bring HOPE to the families of Appalachia.

"Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." James 2:15-17
For the past several years the door for us to travel to Jamaica has been closed. We wondered how we could see our loved ones and family again. In 2015 Pastor Deans (our pastor in JA) called us to let us know the kids we had spent so much time with...the kids we helped raise...teach to swim...spent so much time with......were wanting to do a mission trip. Guess where they wanted to come? Yes, to us, here in Georgia!
Now, for four years they have raised their own funds and have spent two weeks in the summer with us. We spend countless hours together as a family and countless hours ministering here in northeast Georgia. It is such a big deal! Summer 2019 our Jamaican family will arrive once again here in Georgia! Ministry opportunities are already being planned!
We first landed on the Caribbean island of Jamaica in 2001. We love this tiny island in the sea not only for the turquoise blue waters, white sandy beaches and truly astounding sunsets, but much more for its beautiful people. The people of Jamaica have captured our hearts for many years now as we have traveled to share with them the love and message of Jesus Christ. While there we stay with a local pastor and his family, working alongside their church. We have so many diverse experiences on each journey. Some of these include the opportunity to share music and God's Word with public schools, build relationships with teenage mothers at a pregnancy center, host health fairs, share Jesus with many on the streets and hold close precious children in orphanages. This cross-cultural experience will change you forever.
